Cultivating Students for Twenty‑Seven Years，Practicing the Original Aspiration of Patriotism

The three‑foot podium bears the nation’s aspirations, and dedicated education fulfills our original mission. Having taught for twenty‑seven years, I have grown from a novice teacher into a leading senior high‑school English teacher in Xi’an. Working on the front line of teaching, I always uphold the mission of fostering virtue through education. I integrate patriotism education into daily classes, inspire students with role models of our times, plant the seeds of patriotism in young hearts, and fulfill my duty to serve the country as an educator.
Education speaks louder than words, and role models serve as tangible inspiration. For years, I have embedded ideological and political education into my English lessons. The inspiring story of Academician Tu Youyou serves as my most vivid teaching material, nourishing both myself and generations of students. In her scientific research, she endured hardships and loneliness. Undeterred by countless failed experiments, she persisted unwaveringly and finally extracted artemisinin. Her achievement saved millions of lives across the globe, bringing traditional Chinese medicine onto the world stage and demonstrating her sincere devotion to the motherland through lifelong commitment.
Her spirit ignites the aspirations of young people. Growing up in prosperous times, today’s teenagers enjoy comfortable lives and may easily become impetuous or discouraged by setbacks. In class, drawing on my subject expertise, I help students understand the perseverance and dedication behind her achievements. I make them realize that patriotism is no empty slogan, but down‑to‑earth hard work, unyielding perseverance and selfless devotion. Inspired by this role model, students calm their impetuosity and devote themselves to study. They link their personal dreams to the destiny of our country, letting the seeds of patriotism take root deep inside them.
Tu Youyou’s devotion also spurs me forward. Her lifelong commitment to one cause for the nation clarifies my educational mission. Over twenty‑seven years of teaching, I have rejected utilitarian impulses and devoted myself to teaching research and classroom improvement. As an English teacher, I use language as a bridge, guiding students to view the world with an international perspective and tell Chinese stories well. I foster students’ love for the motherland amid cultural comparisons, and stay true to the mission of educating people for the Party and the country.
Education requires joint efforts of schools and families. I actively promote home‑school cooperation, blending patriotic family values with school moral education. The power of role models accompanies students throughout their growth, delivering subtle and immersive patriotism education.
After 27 years of diligent cultivation in the education field, my original aspiration is burning hot and I will live up to the great motherland. In the future, I will keep working hard at the podium, shape students with role models and educate them with craftsmanship. I will nurture new‑era young people with strong patriotism and a sense of responsibility, and pay tribute to our prosperous motherland with the modest light of an educator.
杏坛二十七载育人，躬身践行爱国初心
三尺讲台存家国，潜心育人践初心。从教二十七载，我从青涩教师成长为西安市高中英语学科带头人。深耕教学一线，我始终坚守立德树人使命，将爱国教育融入日常课堂，以时代榜样浸润心灵，让家国情怀扎根少年心底，以师者初心践行报国担当。
教育无声，榜样有形。多年来，我坚持在英语课堂融入思政教育，屠呦呦院士的奋斗故事，是我最生动的德育教材，深深滋养着我与每一届学子。科研路上，她不畏艰苦、甘于寂寞，历经无数次实验失败仍矢志不渝，最终成功提取青蒿素，挽救全球数百万生命，让古老的中医药文化走向世界、闪耀国际舞台，用一生坚守诠释了至诚报国的赤子情怀。
这份精神，悄然点亮少年初心。当代青少年生长于盛世，生活安稳顺遂，容易心生浮躁、畏难懈怠。课堂上，我结合学科特点，带领学生读懂榜样背后的坚守与奉献，让孩子们明白：爱国从不是空洞的口号，而是脚踏实地的深耕、百折不挠的拼搏、默默无私的担当。在榜样感召下，学子们褪去浮躁、潜心向学，自觉将个人理想与家国命运紧密相连，让爱国种子在心底生根发芽。
榜样力量，亦时刻鞭策我笃行致远。屠呦呦一生择一事、一心报一国的执着，让我更加明晰育人使命。二十七载杏坛躬耕，我摒弃功利浮躁，潜心教研、精进课堂。作为英语教师，我以语言为桥梁，带领学生立足国际视野、讲好中国故事，在中西文化对比中厚植家国情怀，始终坚守为党育人、为国育才的初心。
育人之路，家校同行。我积极推进家校共育，让爱国家风与校园德育相融相通，让榜样力量伴随学生成长全程，实现润物无声的沉浸式爱国教育。
杏坛耕耘二十七载，初心滚烫不负山河。今后，我将继续躬身讲台、笃行不怠，以榜样铸魂、以匠心育人，深耕教育沃土，培育心怀家国、勇担使命的新时代少年，以平凡师者微光，礼赞盛世中华。
